Tiny Lübeck-Blankensee (LBC) Airport, or Hamburg-Lübeck in Ryanair’s terminology, is not particularly convenient for traveling to Hamburg. Lübeck’s old town is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list and hosts a magical Christmas market in the heart of this town famous for its brick Gothic buildings.
Ryanair’s main hubs in Germany are Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (HHN) and Düsseldorf-Weeze (NRN). Both airports are very inconveniently located from the larger cities in the hyphenated names. However, several Christmas markets near Frankfurt-Hahn Airport may be worth the extra travel if the flights are cheap enough.
